Although the State of North Dakota only
requires a commitment of 80 hours of continuing education every five
years, Dr. Hetland routinely averages more than 100 hours of such
education every year. He has studied with the LD Pankey Institute for
advanced education. The institute currently has a series of seven
week-long educational opportunities of which Dr. Hetland has attended
through level six. Fewer than 5 percent of the dentists in the United
States take on the commitment of attending this prestigious institute (www.pankey.org).
His love for dentistry is also
evident in his participation in charitable dental programs such as Give
Back A Smile, Donated Dental Services, the Red River Valley Dental Access
Clinic and Mission Jamaica. When not involved in dentistry or family
activities he can be seen riding his bike or heard singing in church.
